Even more from the fence

Postby Hagar » Tue Mar 13, 2007 5:08 am

A few more from Shoreham over the weekend. I could flood the forum if I wished but these are the last for now.

Not seen this one before. One of the less common members of the Cub family. I was surprised to learn that Pan Am objected to the name & put pressure on Piper to change it. With a few modifications including flaps & a more powerful engine it became the Pacer.

The Cirrus is such a nice-looking aeroplane. Here's an SR20 followed by an SR22. I don't know the difference offhand.

While in search of refreshment I missed this little puddlejumper landing. Well, a man has to eat sometime. ::)

Another Tobago. These seem very popular..

A smart Piper Archer. Spot anything unusual?

Lots of visiting GA aircraft here at the moment as most of the local airfields are waterlogged. One advantage of the hard runway.

Finally, I rather like this shot of the Cega air ambulance. It usually operates from Goodwood. I've not managed to catch it in the air yet.

Hm. American registration?

Nope. FAA registrations are quite common in Europe nowadays.

Thanks for trying. You're getting warmer.

Great shoots!

On the Piper... the fact that the type is mentioned on the fuselage... the fact that it's a rental plane and it advertises on the website you can see on the fuselage?

http://www.nregaviation.co.uk/

The fact that it's IFR equiped?

A lovely mix there Doug. I'm green with envy!

There are two types of aeroplane, Spitfires and everything else that wishes it was a Spitfire!

Nope. You have to look closely. I didn't spot it until I saw my photos. Here's one from a different angle. http://www.simviation.com/yabbuploads/da-IMG_7208-sm.jpg

Definitely. 310 horses (-22) vs. 200 (-20). I guess the idea is: trainer or tourer.
