So I suck at welding...

Postby ATI_7500 » Mon Mar 12, 2007 6:25 pm

...but nonetheless kept me busy the last two days during practical training for university.

Image

- Cut out with a computer controlled plasma cutter
- Grinding (took about five hours)
- Welding my last name into it
- Got it pressed even again (welding heat took its toll on the 8mm steel)
- Grinded out a few bad spots
- Got the holes drilled into it
- Brushed/polished it
- Got it pickled
- Done

Ah well, could be a nice door sign.

Not bad, probably better than I could do! Came out pretty well considering the heat distortion.
Sincerely,

That's not so bad... I doubt I could do better.
You gonna wear it around your neck? With a big clock, maybe?

Neat... What Uni are you going to? Is it one of those technical universities? And what are you going to study...

1. Captain, if the problem is not entered into the technical logbook.........then the aircraft does not have a problem.
2. And, if you have time to write the fault on a napkin and attach to it to the yoke.........you have time to write it in the tech log....see point 1.
