I would like to say "nice catch on that parrallel approach". But since they aren't parrallel runways, I can only give you "great shots". ;) ;D

Thanks Guys!! :)

There are a few good spots around PHL for Spotting!!

The camera I use is a good old Kodak DX7590 10X optical zoom lens which is equivalent 38 - 380 mm lens in a 35mm camera.  It's a great camera and does it's job fine.  But, I do have my eye on a nice DSLR camera package!! :)

What DSLR are you considering?  Thats what I am about to do also, I'm trying to get myself to get rid of the 35 mm that I've been using since 1980, but a have a small fortune invested in it, lens, speedwinder, flashes, filters, ect. I've really been dragging my feet, doing alot of research and reading on digital, and its hard teach an old dog new tricks.

Right now i'm looking at the Canons.  One of the EOS models if my budget will allow it.
otherwise I am still researching.

How about you?  What have you been checking out?

Oh, by the way I'm pulling out my old SLR to get some Moon shots!!
Canon AE-1, 70mm to 210mm zoom lens, 400mm lens, 800mm lens, speedwinder and so on.
Will be using the 800mm for the moon shot.  :)

First of all, hope we get to see the moon shots.  Second, we must be clones, As well, I am looking at the Canons, I was all set to get the Canon EOS 30D with the EF-S 17-85mm F/4-5.6 USM Image Stabilizer ($1,650.00) , with the EF 70-300 F/4-5.6 USM IS ($550.00).  Then I went to the local Camera store and was talking to the salesman, and he recommended the EOS Rebel XTi instead of the 30D. He said its 1/2 the price, has more megpixals, and has a auto sensor cleaner. Those are the thing that are better than the 30D. The 30D has a metal body and the XTi is plastic, so the 30 is alot more rugged, but weighs more. I walked out and said I need to research more and thats where I am at now. Third, I also have a Canon AE-1 that I bought in 1980, with a 24mm, 50mm, a 35-105 zoom, and a 100-300 zoom, which still works fine. So with 26 years of Canon, I wouldn't consider any other brand.  What started me into finally upgrading is, last summer I got to go to Oshkosh. It cost me $250 to develop the film and put on CD's, and while 2 F-22's where making a high speed low altitude pass, I was changing film. I hope someday  to be the Pittsburgh Spotter for you guys, There are some guys that post some really great shots on here, I would appreciate anyones comments about lens and cameras.

Believe me if after I get them developed and see how they turned out, they will be posted.
I feel the same way about Canon.  I love the AE-1 so going digital with Canon is how I will probably go.  Had the AE-1 since the early 80's also.

The Rebel sounds like it's more in my budget and that might be the choice.  Then I can spend the money I save on the lens I want.

Bring on the pictures from PIT!!! :)
