Scottish bits and bobs

Postby F3Hadlow » Mon Feb 19, 2007 11:44 am

Been sorting out my many (!) photo CDs lately and have found some older material I completely forgot about. One such outing was one I took to the Museum Of Flight at East Fortune back in 2003. Don't think I've ever put these photos on the Internet so thought they might be of some interest. This was a way before Concorde came in to their possesion and I haven't been there since so chances are it looks totally different (or they dont even have sime of these types) now with Concorde now dominating the main hangar. I have more if there is any interest.

Lovely clear photos. More like it please.

That General Aircraft Cygnet in #4 is a very rare bird. It was airworthy & lived in the club hangar at Shoreham when I worked there in the early 1960s. It was bare aluminium finish in those days. Belonged to one of the club members, a Mr Rolt who worked for HM Customs. He spent more time polishing it than flying. He also drove a 1926 vintage Rolls-Royce car.

Hoot mon, ach, etc... 8-)  :)

Okay now, what is that last one? I actually like the Cygnet, BTW... it's very charming in an ungainly sort of way.
