If it's Wednesday, this must be Chicago... pt 2

A few more from yesterday's flight from KER-KORD:

Another lo-quality but hi-interest shot...and you should've seen the one that got away: an eastbound KLM heavy streaking by our right side at 1000 feet below and very close. It was gone before I could raise the camera... ;D

#2 seems nominal... ;D

A huge wind farm somewhere in Pennsylvania.

Image

Quite bumpy for most of the trip, and we started picking up the faintest trace of ice, in the scratches on the windows, anyway... couldn't see any sign of it on the wing.

Image

Descending over Lake Michigan... believe it or not, we're wings-level here. There's a horizon out there somewhere...

Image

Approaching from the NE... first notch of flaps...

Image

And the last... and a very competent landing.

Image

A little slow-motion race... noticed for the first time that nobody really seems to follow the taxi lines on these ramp areas; I won't feel so bad now cutting corners when taxiing at big airports in FS9. ;D

Next: who knows?

Lol, that first comment reminds me of my flight to San Diego. Departing out of EWR, I saw a Kuwaiti A340 into JFK. Too far away for me to get a good shot. :(

I always cut the corner when taxiing!!  ;)

More nice shots!!  Clear except the icing in the one shot.  Why didn't you roll down the window and wipe it off?  ;D

I hope my next flight I get a clean window like everyone else has been getting!!

How's the job going?  See any neat things at the AFB?

The days when you could hang your elbow out the window on an airline flight are long gone... and that's too bad.

As for the work: you're a bit confused, my friend: the MacDill AFB thing is in Florida, and probably not 'til next month. But it's all good- I often forget where the hell I am myself, lately... ;D

The work at this restaurant is slowly getting underway, with the usual nonsense: the speaker brackets that were shipped here are white, so I had to spray-paint them black in a 20-knot wind, out on the loading dock... all 26 of them.
Fun stuff... NOT.

But I got two speakers hung between lunch and dinner (the restaurant is open for business, so we're working around that), and tonight I'll go backfor another lovely free meal (Brazilian churrasco; all-you-can-eat meat dishes), then pull an all-nighter banging out as much of the install as I can before I get too punchy.

;D

When I went to Chicago back in September we passed over some big intersection over an airport, saw quite a few planes around below us, but nothing big
