Urbana B-17 update...

Postby Brett_Henderson » Sat Dec 02, 2006 8:35 pm

I flew up to Urbana (I74) today for lunch and stopped in at the B-17 hangar. Not much progress since my last stop.. but I did get a close-up that I forgot to get last time. The last picture in this post is some of a wing's interior skin. You can see where some of the workers "signed" their work.

Keep 'em coming; that's amazing stuff.
Wish I lived nearby and had time to help...I'll be back in Chicago this winter; maybe I'll try to drive down there for a visit.  :)

Time it right and we can all fly to Urbana. It's worth it just for the $100 burger. A stop in the B-17 Hangar makes it a VERY special place for an afternoon flight.

My schedule isn't predictable enough to count on me for a place to stay. But, if you make it to "Somebody's" and I'm in Columbus at the time.. I'd be glad to swing over and pick you both up.. or.. to save time and $$.. you two could meet me in Columbus and we'd fly to Urbana from there.

On that note, "Somebody"  LOL ..  if you ever make it to Columbus with an afternoon to kill.. let me know.

P.S. Somebody..  I'll email you with a heads-up.. next time I know I'll be flying near your home town..
