2. And, if you have time to write the fault on a napkin and attach to it to the yoke.........you have time to write it in the tech log....see point 1.

Nope, they are both RAF Museum aircraft. IIRC the first one is the oldest surviving Spitfire (note the lack of a bulged canopy) K9942 in its 72 Sqn colours.

The Hurricane is LF738, a Mk IIc.

I can't believe it had a straight canopy for all it's career. Especially if it's got a three bladed prop.

I guess they never retro-fitted the Malcolm Hood..... on the prop note, two and three blades must have been very early in the evolution of the Spitfire Merlin -> Griffon setup......... ???

I suspect it was fitted at some stage during the war, but removed when the aircraft became a "display" aircraft, probably in 1959-60. :)
