KBUF-KEWR part 2

Postby beaky » Fri Nov 03, 2006 8:32 pm

Finally, about 20 minutes after our scheduled departure, our chariot arrives. A beautiful sight. Their nice landing in the slush and blowing rain and snow gave me confidence in this crew- a captain who introduced himself on the PA as "Tony" (NY accent), and a lady FO with a bit of a drawl. this ERJ was a bit more worn-out inside than the previous one, but I always enjoy flying in these smaller jets.

Now I'm stuck in the plane... but a little closer to the action.

"Dear Mom and Dad... I'm finally a three-striper with a major carrier... but I didn't expect to be handling the luggage..." LOL. Glamorous, isn't it?      ;D

Love these Fokkers, especially in this livery. If I'd had it more together when I started flying, I might be happily flying right-seat at least on something like this by now. But whatever- I'm probably earning more than the captain is, and I get to do more bug-smashing and no bus-driving... ;D
But I wonder... if i get my ATP before I"m 50, and promise not to bid for the left seat before I retire... hmmm... ;D

Had to include this Caravan arrival, even though it's low-quality.

After the Beech gets deiced and sent on its way, I am relieved to see the 1/4 inch of wet snow get hosed off our wings. Weather's improving, too. Let's go!!!

A low-speed "race" to the active... we won. ;D

Finally!!  Quickly into the clag... then busting out, with plenty of climbing left to do.

Next: part 3

Seeing a pic of that CO Beech 1900 brings back memories...my very first flight was on one of them back in 1998 8)

Gota tell me though...are those Continental ERJ seats comfortable.  Cause flying on an American ERJ-145 back in August the seats were like a little piece of heaven...so much leg room and very plush leather seats.  Just wonder what the other airlines are like since i plan to do some more flying in the near future :P

i remember a flight a few years back. We arrived from gatwick into detroit, it was so windy we only just were able to get the landing clearance. and there were nasty storms in the area. Our gate was blocked at the new terminal because the wind had blown part of the roof off. We finally got in. And by the time we got through customs and immigration it was clear and quite nice. 10 minutes later. A huge snow storm like yours blew through. I had already missed my first flight out because of the wind. and was booked on the 9pm flight to memphis. I said to a fellow passenger, i am not staying here tonight, and he said dont worry it'll blow over pretty soon. within 30 minutes there was over a foot of snow on the ground, we didn't take off till gone 11pm waiting for the new crew that was needed because of the delay and because of the weather. So I feel your pain of hoping to get out :)
Great shots so far:)

The 145 I took west was not bad... pretty comfy and roomy.
But the one on the way back: my seat seemed a little worn-out.
