Mini airliners

Postby Hagar » Mon Sep 04, 2006 4:09 am

And now for something a little different. Been trying to sort out the 1,000s of photos I've taken this year & found these. ;)

Taken at various times at Goodwood & Shoreham.

PS. I know they're not really airliners. ::) :P :D

Very nice "airliners" Doug ;D

I guess that BA tail is similar to the this one?

Different indeed...
Where do they put the lavatory?
;D

I assume these are not carrying pax for hire, but are instead planes from airline-owned flying clubs, something some airlines provide for their employees who enjoy doing a bit of "bug-smashing" every now and then.

But there was a time: Frontier Airlines started out with one Bonanza, I believe...or maybe it was a Skyhawk.

Thanks for the interesting comments. I seem to have started something. LOL

I had no idea that Britannia & Thomsonfly share the same logo. Shows how outdated I am. I shall have to keep my eye open for more of these mini airliners. I can remember the Airways Aero Club* Chipmunk used to visit Shoreham regularly many years ago. Turns out that this became the BA club & they still have a Chipmunk in the original livery. Here's the complete fleet. http://www.bafc.co.uk/fleet.shtml
Sadly it seems we won't be seeing the "Ethnic" tails much longer. Funny thing, I hated the very idea of it on the real airliners. I shall have to try & get a photo of that Chipmunk.

*PS. Airways Aero Club was formed in 1947 for employees of BEA & BOAC which amalgamated to become BA in 1974.

You might wanna add Jetair, corsairfly, Hapagfly and several others to that list...

They all belong to the TUI group...

Thanks. Amazing what you find out in this place. :o ;)

PS. As you can see I have very little interest in current airlines or airliners.
