Airbourne - Day 1

Postby Hagar » Thu Aug 17, 2006 1:30 pm

Today was the first day of Airbourne, the free seafront air show at Eastbourne. Some of the participating aircraft use Shoreham as a base for the four-day event. The forecast was rotten but I toddled over there anyway to see what showed up. So glad I did as the weather turned out fine after a damp start. Here's some of the early arrivals.

Surprise. Look what's here. :o John Romain in the Mk XVIII

Wow, incredible shots!  Man, all these great warbird shots you're always taking makes me wanna take a trip accross the pond!  Man, how fun!
The day is always better when you're flying upside down.

Very nice indeed. I'll have to check the Shoreham webcam to see if they're visible!

Though I've been meaning to ask, do you use manual focus on your cam? It's been a bit more noticeable in your previous sets of shots, if that is the case, but either way, it seems to have improved a great deal!

And if you think JJ looks good, you should hear the sound it makes in a climb! Just fantastic! :o

Splendid, splendid stuff Doug! Very crisp and clean...

And whoever thought of painting the propellors on the Shorts Tucano's should be awarded! They add so much to the shots!  :)

It's a clever stoboscopic effect isn't it. Seen up close, it gives the impression the blades are "wobbling"...
