A Few Days Off..

Postby TSC. » Wed Aug 16, 2006 12:35 pm

Hi all,

I've just had a few days off work to take Jr TSC camping & also to his favourite park type place (the place with the trains again ::))

Firstly, an aerial shot off our camp site, just near Slapton Sands in Devon.

One of the E-boats, S-130, that attacked the convoy taking part in Operation Tiger is currently being restored at Mashfords boat yard on the river Tamar in Cornwall. It's the only known surviving E-boat.

Interesting to know. Shame they appeared to go to all that effort to rescue S-97, only for her to be scrapped. It's a rather sad postscript - a page describing the rescue, then...

Update: S-97 has been scrapped and is no more.

...poor thing. :(

Nice shots TSC - that railway looks familiar - did you post shots of it last year or was that a different one?
