Heading out.......

Postby Rifleman » Tue Aug 08, 2006 1:14 pm

Just hanging around the airpark, sometimes you'll get to see the magic skies and some wonderful colours in it....advanced ultra-light by "Quad City Challenger" on Puddlejumper Amphibious Floats........sky,... by "Beautiful B.C.!"  :o

My friend Dale and his wife were out for a jaunt to Sproat Lake (home of the Martin Mars water bombers) to see friends.......here is his departure.  8)

Wonderful shots Ken ;)

Oh and is there only one water rudder on that aircraft?

The nose gear, do you know if it retracts straight up a little or does it swing back or forward?

Very interesting bugsmasher ;)

Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug

One water rudder is adequate for this lightweight duck, and as for the nose gear, its on a telescoping rod and tube assembly........ 8) .........on a "normal" take-off, Dale would have had the L/G retracting at this point, but he was too busy waving !

does he retract it by hand?

have you seen the Sierra 2000? it's another nifty advanced ultralight...a real treat. we had one at Diamond a few weeks ago, one of the fatcats there owns it, or the fatcat owns a D40 or something like that....i dont know very well...i was too busy drooling over the thing-and pretending to be working too ::)

EDIT: a shot of the TECNAM P2002 Sierra

Indeed it does retract by hand, and for the Sierra 2000, nope, not seen or even heard of it....very nice looking though ...
