Oshkosh, the trip split.. 1

Waiting on weather in Kenton, Ohio. Three hour delay, but met some neat pilots also dodging weather..

Getting the landing gear worked on in Warsaw, Indiana. The A/P guy, Chris, had just started his business and was so gracious and helpful..

There was a neat Shorts there to play in while we waited..

The parking lot almost looks like the ground from the air..

Nearing Oshkosh, hoping the gear would function..lol..

First night on the ground at KOSH...

If the gear wasnt working, how did you land?  Was it not retracting or not extending?

It didn't come down, normally. I had to turn back out on final. I tried slow flight to reduce the aerodynamic force holding the gear up. Then some steep turns at 120kias to try and get some positve G's to nudge it down. Last resort was the emergency pump between the front seats. There's barely enough fluid in there for one extension. It worked obviously..  Just a little nervous until the nose-wheel was planted..   ;D

Some people go camping to save money... others, like you, just take a fancy retractable-gear bird to fly in on a famous airshow... how posh!  ;D  ;D  ;D

Amazing shots! Looks like the gear worked? or we wouldn't be reading you posts, right?  ;)
