London Science Museum pt 4, Spitfire Mk22

The museum also has a temporary display on another floor, where they have deconstructed a Spitfire Mk 22.

I like to think it's being restored, and it got this far before pausing (probably for financial reasons).  If the Science Museum can give it a good (free) home for a few months then everyone concerned benefits.  There were also displays of individual components, pilots notes, WW2 memorabilia etc.

This Spit will in fact be totally rebuilt once the exhibition is over ;)

It was more complete before the exhibition - the fin is the only bit that looks the same as it did last year! In fact looking elswhere, only the right side of the fuselage has been stripped...

Interestingly, being a South Marston Spitfire, it hails from the same place as Honda Civics and CRVs...
