An unexpected treat. The Reds doing a fly-by en route from Sanicole, Belgium to Farnborough, England. Looks like a good show. I'm surprised Omag & our other Belgian lads didn't mention it. http://www.sanicole.com/sanicole_air/index.php?newlang=english

I love the way they still fly in perfect formation when going between shows. that's proffessionalism for you!

Nice pics and lucky you.....They didnt get to do their full display on Saturday at Farnborough, and there was quite a lot of cloud today.

They flew over my house a few weeks ago - I reckon they were on their way from Culdrose, heading to RIAT (they were heading slightly northeast, I live northeast of Culdrose and soutwest of Fairford) - at first I thought it was a Tornado, but it didn't sound loud enough, and then they fly over, in two "waves" of 5 aircraft 8)

Nice pics Doug, at least you caught them on camera :D

This was definitely a pre-arranged fly-by. They would have been in contact with Shoreham ATC & popped in to say hello on their way through. I expect they announced it at the airport terminal but I hadn't been over there. It was pure luck that I caught them. Didn't have time to change the camera settings, just shoot & hope for the best. A case of being in the right place at the right time.

Sanicole is one of the last remaining big airshows in belgium 25.000 spectators this year ... they had the Breitling display team and a Jordan display team too ( the one that had the fatal accident that ended the Ostend Airshow)

I didn't attend, due to the construction of a gardenshed...  ::)

But I bet Mr. Bones was there!

Great shots Doug!

Ps: I always wondered, whether these display-team pilots go to the loo in formation too...   ;D  ;D  ;D

Whilst driving back from the south coast the other day, I did see a formation of red planes, low enough to be only seen through gaps in the trees. However, as they were heading south, away from Fairford (this was the departures day), I presume it was the Patrouille Suisse. A very nice catch 'in the wild', so to speak! :)

Well done on getting the pics aswell. It's typical in these situations for your autofocus to bugger up! ;D

It could have been the Red Arrows because (unusually) they also departed on Monday.

Indeed I was there!  :D

At noon they flew (a medium) show over Sanicole. After a fuel stop at Kleine Brogel, they flew to Farnborough. Normally they'd make another pass at Sanicole but they said they didn't had the time anymore. Now I know why...
