The Real Thing

Postby reggie » Sat Jul 22, 2006 3:10 pm

Well, to-day I finally achieved my ambition. I had the chance to go up in a Cessna 172 & given the pleasure of taking the controls for the very first time. Although I'm an avid fs flyer, albeit an apprentice, so the Cessna is my chosen aircraft at the moment, I've never done it for real. What a buzz. Unfortunately, I live on an island created from a volcano, so wind & turbulance are in abundance ( nearly threw up once on the flight :-[), but certainly an experience to be remembered & I'll definitely be doing it again. Anyway, thought I'd share it with you.

The Canary Islands! Now that's a proper place to live!

Must have been a great flight for you!

Don't worry alot of people get sick on their first few flights.

Now go try FS and you will see how it just isn't the same anymore, atleast that was the case for me.   :'(
But it is alright since flying in real life is so much fun.... ;D

So are you going to go for your PPL, Commercial, or just one and done?

Definitely won't stop there. I asked him the cost of the course to get me my private licence & it works out about 6000 euros, which isn't too bad at all. Gonna sell one of the cars, rent 'er indoors out & go for it ;D

Regards the pics I posted, they were all 640 x 480 & sized at a total of 116.6 kb, is this not within the limits? Just checking before I put them up again, as the thread is pointless without the pics. Sorry if they were wrong.

If size and weight were correct, you must have forgotten to upload them to Simviation. Links to images uploaded elsewhere are not accepted here.

Congrats, BTW, and of course we'd all like to see the pics- click on "Upload Images" above and follow the very simple directions; when the results page comes up, hit Ctrl and highlight each image name, copy and paste all of them into your message, and voila!

Well done; you have figured out the image-posting process in much less time than it took me... :P

Hope you manage to keep at it... what's an hour of dual in a C172 going for over there nowadays?

Thanx for the pictures; always interesting to see aerial shots from places other than the usual.

Here's a couple more pics of where I live.
Arrecife is the capital. The marina is new & the volcano is on a small island called Alegranza off the coast of Lanzarote
