My first Legends!

Postby Mr. Bones » Mon Jul 10, 2006 1:41 pm

Hello guys,

Last week I graduated and there's no better way to celebrate that with a visit to the Flying Legends airshow. It was my first visit to Duxford and I have to admit it was the best airshow I've ever seen. The planes, the sound, the engines, the atmosphere...amazing.

Here are some random photos. Duxford is a real pain in the &*$ when it comes to photography: props, sun, formations,... but the worst thing is that you can't save the sound in a photo. Anyway, here's the first batch...

(btw, the pilot flying Old Crow lives 10 miles from my home...unfortunately I've only saw him training once this season, last year I could hear the Merlin every Sunday  8))

What a mean machine, that Tigercat. I'm gonna miss it because it's such a special aircraft.  :'(

More soon...  ;)

Thanks for those great views of the Tigercat... only time I saw one fly it also did some mild aerobatics, but I didn't get pictures. What a lovely monster that thing is.  ;D

You're welcome. Any more? Come on, don't be shy. ;)

PS. Otherwise I'll be forced to post more myself. I have plenty left. ::)

Indeed it is. It sounds as though its going to be on your side of the pond very soon too, for the same reason the Mr Grey is selling his Beaufighter project...

Yep, it's getting too expensive to keep pilots qualified to fly those twin engined warbirds... :'(

Hmmm. I suspect this has something to do wit that EU insurance fiasco. ::)

Not as such - the owners age and a medical condition (I believe) allows him to fly a Bearcat for example, but not a twin... ::)
