D-day:Point du Hoc (2)

Some more pictures from Normandy. This place is called Point du Hoc. US Rangers had to climb these cliffs and try to destroy the artillery, as this artillery could hit the landing beaches.
After a very bloody fight and heavy losses, the Rangers were able to take out the pillboxes, only to find them empty. The Germans had moved the guns.

just outa interest isnt their a level in Call of Duty 2 (PC) based on that battle???

I had no idea that the old German fighting positions, buildings, trenches, bunkers, end even evidence of the battle such as artillary craters were still there...! :o
