Suggestion on a new camera?

I've had this Olympus digital camera for a while, and now i wanna take the step forward, and get me a REAL camera.
Anyone that can suggest a good camera for a good prices? (

I want a camera, that can take good nature pictures, and maybe also good aircraft pictures.

Not every day, but some times a week.

I've been shooting with Olympus for quite a few years now and have been happy all the way through (started with a D-490, then a C-2040z).....recently I moved up to an SLR but stayed with Olympus due in large part to my satisfaction but also for financial reasons. I think I got the best value for money with the latest offering from Oly........

Thats not to say that there aren't a great many options, but you need to define your intended uses to see if you can meet all your objectives in what you can afford from any manufacturer .......Canon, Pentax, Nikon, etc, all make very good cameras....don't listen to any one specific direction......look at as many as you can before you make a decision.........

And read, read, read... www.dpreview.com is an excellent place for reviews and comparing camera's.

With that nice amount of cash available I'd certainly be looking at bridgecamera's like the Panasonic FZ7 - the canon Powershot S2 - the Sony H1 and others...

But, as I've experienced first-hand, if you really want quality... in every way, I think you'll need to go for a dSLR. Your budget however may be a bit on the small side, especially if you want to go out planespotting. Again, I could be wrong, the dSLR owner around here could tell you if I'm correct...

I received my camera for my birthday, so my father and girlfriend did the research... it came from pixmania... you might check it out... it's also available in Denmark.

To be fair, DSLR is better is a common misconception. DSLR is only better in the hands of those who know how to use them properly and are willing to spend alot of time and in some cases money, learning to use them. There are many great digital cameras that you will get as good as if not better results with. And as they are getting more advanced, alot now have DSLR features without the hassle of having to buy and change the lenses.

Not a bad choice. However...

With that particular camera, I think you'll have to be thinking about buying extra lenses for it, especially if you want to do some aircraft photography. These, often, can cost as much as the camera themselves...

Agreed, but you start with an advantage when using a dSLR... and that is the bigger sensor! No matter what, that is THE factor that will define what your camera is capable off. Offcourse, the person behind the camera and the lenses are equally important.

What kind of lenses do i need?

I'm not sure on the specifics, (I'll leave that to Steve (Heathaze)), but for aircraft photography, you're gonna need at least a 75-300mm lens, perhaps up to 380/420mm. I know that either Canon or Sigma are good for lenses, but I'll leave the rest of the advice to someone else (the lens on my camera is built in, so... )
