nice shots ken...speaking from a weekend-fs-designer point of view, i think you should gather up all the quick studies you've done of all the various models at your fild and upload them to SimV (ask pete if he'd let you) for reference...as in reference for designers. its real hard to find shots like that

Kris, its hard to say exactly what the suspended apparatus may be for specifically, but in general, I think it's some sort of sling mount for carrying oversized loads which may not fit into the A/C or may need to be taken on as a load suspended from below the C of G due to weight ?  ???
