N7198Q is a Cessna 172L - 1972 vintage........

Definately not a P-39.....Bell P-39 has mid engine and nose gear.......... back end looks like it has roots in the Republic p-47 family.......

That looks like the only Tr.9 in the US there Jake, the other two-seater being the only MkVIII converted to 2 seat spec by Supermarine! Its first advanced trainer model

Guys, the P-39 is a P-36.  I knew that, just I got too much sun and was confused when typing the post

Are you sure about this ?.....the landing gear is all wrong for a Hawk.....on the P-36 the gear retracts to the rear and rotates 90 degrees to lie flat in the wing....
...the A/C in your image shows gear which retracts in towards the center of the aircraft ?
Not picking on you, but I don't know what it is either and this doesn't happen very often to me  :-[ .......somebody HELP  :o.....now I need to know what this is.........  :'(      8)

I recognize it, but i just cant think of the type anymore!  Its very familiar to me, Ill go look it up

I had looked at the Lancer and passed on that one too...

Dunno Charlie, that fin and rudder are certainly not brought forward from the Harvard  :-/ ......it looks like Republic to me ? very much like the Jug .........  :-X  8)

Believe me... Look at a Mk 1 Harvard and you'll see that rudder. Also, you'll notice the T-6 canopy there, other than the last section...

Here are some early NA-16 Harvards, with that rudder...






And, to remove any doubt, here's an NA-50/P-64 taking off at Oshkosh...
