C152 video

Postby beaky » Tue Apr 25, 2006 5:57 am

Finally edited and uploaded camcorder footage from a flight earlier this month. It was the first light-aircraft flight for my buddy "Jinx" but he survived it well and shot some pretty good video... check it out at YouTube (3 parts):

Thanks for looking... I sorta hate Wagner, but it fits... that all came about because during the second takeoff, we were both humming "the Ride of the Valkyries"; I was just going to use that part, but had some fun making other stuff from the "Ring" cycle fit the video. Clip here, scrub there... et voila!   :D

Tongue-in-cheek, for sure! ;D It's corny, but it's somehow appropriate, in a fun way.

PS- if you've tried to view parts 2 and 3, there seems to be a problem: part 2 comes up as part 3, even though it shows the correct file name. When I get home I'll check that- may have screwed up the file name or something... :P

The movie definatly has a "Blair Witch Project"-quality to it... I like it! Great choice of music... different, but very well chosen!

I'm sure gonna check out the other parts too...

BTW? Scary dude in the back... lol...

LOL...Blair Witch... hadn't thought of that...!! :D

The music really worked well; I didn't edit it much. The best parts are the two landings; for the second, I skewed the music so you hear the "chirp" of the tires right after a dramatic buidup and pause followed by a huge metallic clang (I guess it's Thor's hammer or something; I'm not very familiar with the whole narrative of the Gotterdammerung). it's dramatic and hilarious at the same time... just like What's Opera, Doc? ("kill the wabbit...")

BTW? Scary dude in the back... lol...  ;D

Scarier still is that Jinx was in front with me...only two seats in a 152, and two grown men in that thing have to practically sit in each others' laps. ::)

Great video Rotty. ;)

Those suckers really climb, was that a Vx or a Vy climb (just curious, looked a lot faster than what I'm used to in a C172)? :) ;)

Grr... I don't know what happened there. It's shown as the correct file, but plays as part 3. I've removed 2 and 3 until I can get home and sort this out (may have to re-upload).

BTW... stay tuned for footage from my nice flight with Marco to Tangier Island- coming "soon"! ;D

Strange; a C152 aficionado who's in a hurry... ??? :D ;)

It's bad enough viewing those with broadband, sometimes... I feel your pain!

You can't save them off YouTube, unfortunately... maybe there's some other site that allows that; I'll look into it. Or if anyone else knows...?

You could always use FlightLevel350 and I think photobucket is allowing video uploads now.
