F16 static

Postby krigl » Sun Apr 09, 2006 4:01 pm

Hi, here are some pics I took of an F16 on static display at the CIAF air display at Brno Turany, Czech Republic. I know diddly squat about it but it was sitting menacingly on my hard drive and I thought I'd share  :)

I like checking out the shots in this section but have no time to post comments... I'm really sorry!! :-[ So don't feel obliged to comment on mine, don't mind if you don't but all comments welcome of course.

I know they're not up to the standard here but I'll post some more from my part of the world later anyway... just "sharing the love" as it were  :D

Have a good one y'all, your shots are great!!!!

Awsome shots! I love F-16s.

Anyone know what the thing on it's back is? radar equipment? electronic countermeasures? Whatever it is, it makes the plane look bigger and meaner than usual.

I don't know exactly, but I understand that a ton of electronic stuff goes in there that doesn't fit into the usual places in the airframe, and I also read that Lockheed produces the planes with empty spines, and then air forces fit whatever stuff they want in there...

It certainly makes the plane look meaner, though I prefer the "classic" style....

Nice shots

Personally, I love the Falcon, but I absolutely hate the two seat variant. They messed up all the graceful lines when they did that, now it just looks like a madman had too many parts leftover from his previous creations and threw them all on this plane.

Very nice! :)

You certainly got better shots of that type than I did when it was at Waddington, the static there is terrible for photography :-/

Nice shots, I really like both #2 and #3.  #2 has a really nice stance too it, I think its because the photo was taken from below the aircraft and close enough to make it look as if it is standing over you.  #3 is just cool looking.   ;D

i've got one of an A-10 to counter that

Thats a sweet photo too.  I really like how you can see the rifling inside the minigun barrells.
