From the fence

Spring seems to have finally sprung so over to the local airport we go. Surprisingly busy in the fresh gusty wind. Still a tad chilly too. Here's a few of my better shots.

Quite by chance I bumped into one of the old forum regulars. Nice meeting you at last Pete. ;)

Indeed Doug, it's been long enough :)

Indeed it has. ;)

I must have missed that Christen Eagle and what plane is that in the third pic. I couldn't quite work it out.

According to the CAA register that be a Pierre Robin R3000/120.

Now the sun is coming out more I might be down there on my bike a bit more often.

Might see you again soon then. ;)

Shame about the photographer. ::) ;)

G-OEGL is a Christen Eagle II.

G-IIEX is an Extra 300L.

PS. Not always the case but there's a clue in the registrations.

The Eagle I recognized (should've said "second aerobat"...);
Extra was my first guess for the second, but wasn't sure. Thanks.

From the fence

Looking at the Rutan Vari-Long-Eze-thingy, I wonder if it's owned by Tim Barnby, the chap who landed the Virgin A340 partially wheels up at Heathrow in 1997. He may be a 747 captain now?... :)

...checked, and no it isn't - registered to a Tim Bailey. I bet he's a 747 Captain!

Great shots!! :)

 That's got to be a great view from the cockpit on the third shot.
