Spring has sprung!

Postby beaky » Sun Apr 02, 2006 10:03 pm

Perfect weather (at last) for a little jaunt today... sunny, warm, but with a cool breeze out of the NW.
My friend Stephen (the mad Irish motorcyclist) agreed to come along, and shot some video. Until i complete the maddening process of editing and formatting that, here are some stills...

Having a little trouble with the static safety cable... grrr...

A little busy here today, but not as much as I'd expected.

The weak crosswind more or less favors 07... off we go.

Climbing out:

Haven't flown a Cessna in almost two months, and it feels good. I even shaved for the occasion...

Our planned first stop is only twenty miles away, so I settle for 2500.

Next: more shaky vidcaps!

I figured as much... :P
Hope all is well at at the home front, and don't worry- Spring will be making its regular visit soon enough up there, and we all will expect you to get those wings dried out and go flying!

Oh Poop...I just lied to you Sean...I said SNOW was on it's way Wednesday again.
That is what the weather man told us on the television.
WELL
It is Tuesday morning and it is snowing now ::)

From plus (14) fourteen degrees Celsius yesterday to minus (3) three degrees Celsius right now.  That is without the wind chill off the river.

We enjoy this type of weather as the old saying goes:
(A change is as good as a rest) :)
However:
Many visitors and new immigrants dislike our weather with a passion.
Oh well...to each his own.

We drove over to one of the local bug smasher fields yesterday afternoon, wish we had gone earlier, but they were trying to roll out some ruts left by a single engine large Cessna, not the Caravan.
They made the situation worse, they should have waited until most of the frost was out, now they have the taxiway with eight (8) inch sides, still (2) inch ruts and no chance of drainage now.
The fellas had good intentions but unfortunately they did not know what they were doing.
At least they did not hook the tractor to the roller or it would have been much much worse. :( :( :(

Oh well, I tried to get the old girl to check me out on her broom, all I got from my efforts was a smack with the broom. :P

Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug

Hmmm... don't the ruts make it easier to stay on the taxiway? ;D
That's too bad; hang in there...
