It's a scale replica Spit, not a real one. Apparently has a Jabiru 8-cylinder engine. I forgot to check the registration to find out more about it.

Nice replica, but that prop sure does look small (even though it's probably sufficient, given the much lighter airframe and the choice of engine)... maybe it's just that the spinner looks so big...

The Registration reads something along the lines of AB164? I don't know...but the props look mighty small

Yep it definately is a replica a 80% scale replica to be exact.
with a limited aerobatic rating of +6g -4  g it is a nippy little replica and a top speed of 222mph.

Thanks chaps. I found out a little more info. CAA registration G-CCGH with the serial number AB196 which I believe was actually the first Mk IX. It's one of these. http://www.supermarineaircraft.com/About.htm

As for the small prop, anything bigger would kill a wee engine like that.

As for small Spits, you just can't beat the Isaac's Spitfire, even if the wheels did stick out. Sadly the "Mk26" is probably the least Spit looking homebuilt Spit there is!

It's a Gemini. I've posted pics of it before & it was stuck right at the back of the unlit hangar.

I thought the silver one might be a Gemini but I wasn't sure. The engine housing looked right. I'm getting more knowledgable on these Miles kites
