flight back home

Postby thebrelon » Thu Mar 23, 2006 12:42 pm

here are som pics I took when I flew back from hong kong to paris last friday.

there was no more seats available on the passenger flight, so I had to take a freighter flight to come back. I was passenger on a freighter... ::)
that means I had access to the flight deck at anytime... and actually I sat there for every take off and landings...
that is off from hong kong to bombay, then dubay, and eventually paris.

I took severals pictures but it was a night flight, and I couldn't use the flash, so the pictures are not that good, and that's why I didn't took that many pictures...

here is the first batch, I tried to rework them with paintshop, but some are still dark...

O MAN!  You are one lucky guy, that would be AMAZING!

Nice shots even though they are a little dark, but hey, better than nothing!

..and they are worried about terrorism?

"Yeah, so uh we oversold your flight"

"Are you kidding me?"

"Yeah, but don't worry.. you can ride up in the cockpit. BUT you have to be on your best behavior"

I suspect the fact that Vince is an aircraft engineer helps. ;)

it helps, yes... ;)
I forgot to mention that as I was in a hurry when I wrote the post...sorry
the whole story is, the pax flight was full, and as I was travelling for duty with my company, and as I'm engineer the I can fly as a passenger on our freighter, only...
the ticket is a normal ticket, paid by the company as it is a duty travel.
for the inflight service, it didn't sucked that much, 5 old business seats for 2, plus 2 bunk, and 3 sectors means 3 meals. that you can take when you want, and as you want. plus a friend of mine loaned me his son's PSP (actually I had to get it repaired in hong kong), so I was quite busy playing with it... ;)

the A/C was a 747-200.
I will post more pics today.

thanks
vince
