Rarity at EGNT, warning, terrible quality here!...

Postby F3Hadlow » Fri Mar 03, 2006 8:15 am

With nothing much to do this morning (busy later) I was just testing out a few new camera camera settings when this came in, stupidly, the battery ran out of charge at the crucial moment, I think it is a Irish Air Corps CASA, which would make it quite a rare sight, sorry for the horrendous quality, just thought you might like to see!

Always the same. Just when you you want the important shots, the battery goes dead. Always carry a spare:)

Batteries are a nightmare! I always carry at least 2 spare sets having been caught out a few times....

Lol, thanks guys.
As for the battery, thats actually the first time I've ever had a failure 'on the job'. It was because one of the batteries that go in my grip was on charge therefore I only had the one which has been in several days so it's enitrely my idiotic fault rather than the battery/camera for not putting the second, fully charged, battery back in the camera earlier.
On the plus side I did also capture this earlier ;D

I feel lucky to be able to say that I've never been caught, but I do agree totally with you here Mark.....I have two sets of NiMH(high capacity) and one set of non-rechargeable Lithium cells(long shelf life) with my camera........for me, its the only way to go........ 8)

I have four Canon Li-ion batteries, two of which go in the grip for the camera.

You seem like an experienced enough photographer... I'm suprised you don't that you're supposed to test new settings on trees and other things in your yard ;D (Just playing around with you there, can't help but banter about things like that)

:D Lol good point but theres no point in testing settings on motionless things when nearly all the things I'm going to be shooting with these settings are fast (and slow) aircraft in motion, so I just shoot the aircraft I can without having to leave my back garden ;)
