Batteries are a nightmare! I always carry at least 2 spare sets having been caught out a few times....

I feel lucky to be able to say that I've never been caught, but I do agree totally with you here Mark.....I have two sets of NiMH(high capacity) and one set of non-rechargeable Lithium cells(long shelf life) with my camera........for me, its the only way to go........
With nothing much to do this morning (busy later) I was just testing out a few new camera camera settings when this came in
(Just playing around with you there, can't help but banter about things like that)

You seem like an experienced enough photographer... I'm suprised you don't that you're supposed to test new settings on trees and other things in your yard(Just playing around with you there, can't help but banter about things like that)
Lol good point but theres no point in testing settings on motionless things when nearly all the things I'm going to be shooting with these settings are fast (and slow) aircraft in motion, so I just shoot the aircraft I can without having to leave my back garden
