Snow in Inverness.

The back garden to my house.

After several days of snow, there was enough for the challenge. A snow house. Ok - it was meant to be an igloo - but I have yet to figure how to build a circle. :P

It took 4 of us and three and a half hours to make. We use different sized plastic tubs and compacted the snow into hard bricks. This was held in place by loose snow as cement. There is probably about 100 or so bricks there. You'd be surprised at how strong it is and warm inside too.

Well here it is to the side. This in a field near us overlooking Inverness. 8)

Here it is head-on.

And one for Omag. :P

I'm heading to RAF Leuchars next week so I guess I'd better pack some warm clothes (albeit Leuchars is quite a way south of Inverness)!

Well at the current state of things you can't get up here
Roads are closed. ;D
Even the airports are open sparsely.

That's pretty cool. :D

Not a word I would often use in this context but it seems appropriate in this case. ;)

The Bravery of Captain Oates.. Only 29 miles from One Ton Depot, Oates could slog on no farther. Next morning a blizzard was raging round the tent. He got to his knees.
