Playing Tourist in NYC- part 2

Postby beaky » Tue Feb 07, 2006 10:16 pm

We miraculously found a metered parking space for our brief visit; sat down under the FDR by the East River to eat. There was a steady NW breeze blowing; pretty chilly. Rick foolishly started tossing bits of food to the gulls, and soon we were in an outtake from The Birds... ;D
But I finally figured out the secret to photographing these impudent but beautiful fliers: BRING FOOD.
;D

"I got it!! No, I got it...!"

"I'm not begging... I'm just sitting here. Honest..."

Didn't even get to see what I was shooting here; just trying to follow, sun in my face. You should see this uncropped and full-size... definitely very sparkly, as Rain Man would say... ;D

"Damn! I coulda had that!"

"Those helicopters over there got nothin' on me... look at me hover in this breeze!"

very sparkly.

Yes, but it still is the East River.. ::)

I say before Bloomberg is out of office he should order that the river be drained and all the cars at the bottom go to homeless people and all the washing machines be given to charity.. :P

Has anyone ever seen that one Seinfeld episode where Kramer goes swimming in the East River? One of my favorites. ;D
