
Of course, Goodwood is more famous for horse & motor racing than aeroplanes. This is the top of the stand overlooking the motor racing circuit. The clock must have stopped. I took this at about 4 pm. Ray Hanna used to fly his Spitfire along here so low you could look down on it from where I'm standing to take this shot. We shall never see that again.





*PS. Goodwood airfield was named RAF Westhampnett during WWII.



The smile on the kids face in the last shot is priceless. 











He took off from Westhampnett (Goodwood) on August 9, 1941, for what would be his last wartime mission.
