Thanks for answering, Rotty. That's actually a great camera. Up to 380mm zoom. Nice. It was rated 'above average' by DPR. I moved up to the Evolt from a Sony 717. Hopefully I'll get it all figured out by the Super Bowl party.

  I have the same camera.  It's a great camera and it is 10X optical zoom.  Check on the left side.  All my digitals have been Kodak but, I'm now looking at a Minolta DSLR.  They are starting to come down in price and if you shop around you can get a good deal on the body and standard lens package and they will sometimes discount any other lens if you buy it at the same time$$

Duhhh... me stoopid; me like takin' purty pictures... durrr... Yes, you're right; so its 10x plus 3x digital then? God only knows where i put that manual... certainly not in the correct file folder... well maybe, too lazy to go look...
I've been thinking of eventually getting a DSLR because yes, they're getting darn cheap. But I'm also thinking of getting a slide/negative scanner, because I love the look of slide film and I'm curious to see what I'll end up with on the hard drive after shooting on slide stock with my lovely old Canon QL FT (great lens on that thing!) then scanning the negatives...
Even if it doesn't impress me, I sort of want to scan my old negatives anyway (results with my prints were not always so hot, esp. with drugstore processing), and I have maybe 20 slides I want to archive digitally.

I'm looking to purchase HP's model 4890 Photo Scanner within' the next two weeks.  It can scan up to 16 slides (35 mm), 30 negatives.  Then I have a lot of work ahead off me to scan everyone of my negatives in.

Thanks. That first was a happy accident... I was really just trying to get as much of the various colors and textures of the sky as i could; not a thought for composition. Next time, I should try to get more of the laid-up trains... kinda cool how the lights happened to be on inside that one car... sort of Edward Hopper-like effect.
I guess Newark is just naturally photogenic...
