New Year's Day Fly-in 2

This one lives here & didn't fly today. I've seen model aircraft bigger than this & although it has two engines it must be one of the smallest "full-sized" aircraft ever to fly. I was lucky enough to get a close look at the amazing litte Colomban MC-15 Cri-Cri.

I took this soon after I arrived.


Several hours later when he started it up to taxi it back to the hangar. These give some idea of just how tiny this thing is.






Quality's not great as I had to compress them a lot to reduce the file size.

I didn't take much notice but he's no midget.

The advantage of the twin engine arrangement is that there's plenty of room for the pilot's legs.

Makes sense. I'd assume it's tough to use the rudder pedals with your knees.

A lawnmower would probably put those engines to shame! Also, I seriously doubt the ability of one of those engines to keep me aloft in case of a failure.

Good to see some intrepid winter flying... I've heard the CriCri is a blast to fly; looks like fun.

So who runs the Remote Control  Looks like an oversize RC Model.  Do you have any idea of what the specs are for that thing ??  IE:  speed, max altitude ??  It is not something you see everyday.  Nice pics.
