Now this IS different!

Well I spotted this in the back of a petrol (gas) station car park by the car wash on my way back from Budapest a while back, today I was ready and had my camera handy.

Shame that the vandals have been at it. Very reminiscent of the Balderton Lightning on the A1 motorway near Newark...

That is a sad sight. Reminds me of a visit to Thorpe Park many years ago. I forget all the rare types they had dumped there for the kids to play on & tear to pieces, except for a once-beautiful Sea Hawk. It almost reduced me to tears.

It used to be the centrepoint of a car sales forecourt (where it still is!). Unfortunately they don't appear to be selling cars there any more... :)

buy her and restore her, then sell her for 20 times the money to a german museum, then retire, grab your belongings and familiy and head to thailand for the rest of your life.

just what I would do... ;)

I know someone who might just do that. It would surprise me if he doesn't know about it. http://www.aeroplanemonthly.com/fw189society/index.htm

If you want a more servicable Mig on the cheap then the Albanian AF are selling theirs off for a song right now (same model in fact) ;)

Would be a waste of money with that aeroplane - there are so many you could easily find several nicer examples you could get for peanuts...

shame about the state of the aircraft. but good find. Reminds me of the helo museum in Weston super-mare. They have a bunch of helicopters including one of the original lynx test aircraft torn up and used as playground toys.

Those are Hungarian AF markings, correct?

Looks like they just took the Soviet star and painted a white and green circle in the middle. :)

Sorry looking airplane. Could've been flying airshows for all we know..
