A short trip along the South Downs 3

Postby Hagar » Mon Jan 02, 2006 5:24 pm

Final part of our tour. To get to the sea we first have to cross the Downs. Here's the appropriately named viewpoint at the top.
Image

Looking north towards the way we've just come. Alfriston is down there somewhere.
Image

This is the direction we're heading. Beachy Head in the distance.
Image

I wasn't sure if this idiot was messing around or if he intended leaping off. Fortunately for him he didn't slip. ::)
Image

The chalk cliffs where the Downs meet the sea at Seaford, a short distance from Beachy Head. Maybe we'll go for a walk up there on a better day.

A couple of rather nice views taken from the car window on the way home.

Image

The port of Newhaven in the distance. Note that I wasn't driving this time so we didn't get lost once. :D

Hope you enjoyed sharing my nice day out with me. ;)

A great series Doug, it's always nice to see pics from where other members live.

Thanks for sharing,

Doug (Hagar) after seeing these three brilliant sets I've concluded that I really DO live in the wrong country.... ::)

Thanks for all the trouble you will give me in the future.... Now I will have to move to the UK ;D (was planning on that anyway)

Cheers

To be fair to the chap on the cliff, it would have been a perfect example of natural selection should he have had the misfortune to fall off... ;)

I must admit that the same thought crossed my mind. ::)

Never fear, if fate had taken a hand your old mate Hagar was on the spot to record it for posterity. :D

Thanks for your kind words Soui. You will be most welcome but please remember the old saying. Something about the grass being greener. :-/ :)

I love it here but only show you the best bits. ;)
