New Year's Day Fly-in

Postby Hagar » Sun Jan 01, 2006 5:06 pm

1st January 2006 - New Year's Day fly-in at Popham Airfield. I've been looking forward to this for a long time. The weather turned out better than I expected when I set out this morning on a dull overcast day. Over 70 visiting aircraft turned up from all over the south of England & a grand day out was had by all. To start off with here's a few shots of early arrivals soon after I got there at about 10 am.

This notice at the entrance to the airfield says it all really.

You can see how murky it was.

Ah, now the sun's breaking through. Just in the wrong place but I'm not complaining. :D

I'm a tad rusty at this lark so unfortunately my photos don't do it justice. I might post a few more later - taken after the sun came out. ;)

WOWZERS, Doug...!

Fantastic photographs of good-old General Aviation aircraft...

I especially like the first photo..."Welcome to the Airfield"... ;D...!

I often wish that my local airfield, (EGBS), was always as welcoming to the visiting public......!
