Special for Flying Trucker!

Others are welwome to watch too...  ;D

Hi Doug, seems to me you're a bit curious about my home-shots, so here are some more..

I live in Ruiselede, a rural village... here that means surounded by fields. Were in between 2 other town, 7 km from us.

This is my house... it's part of 4 houses built next to each other.

Image

I live on the edge of town, as they say... and this is my garden:

Image

I own the middle lot, from the trees on the left up to the wooden fence on the right. It ends with those bushes at the end.

Behind that its mostly farmland... with a few farm building in the distance. Most of them specialise in cattle and pigs.

Image

On the right and behind my garden there are meadows, on the far left, there are some cornfields.

Image

When I look from the front of the house, I see our windmill...

Image

And to show my neighbour just installed a stol-airfield... or, rather to show you that the town starts on the other side of my house...

Image

I know you'd probably like to see more of the area, so if I have the chance I'll make a little sightseeing walk and take some pictures for you...

I hope this clears things up...

Sorry there's no lake...

Although, when it rains... the fields can look like this...

Image

I hope you liked it...

Cheers,

Kris

Hi Kris ever since I visited Belguim a few yers ago, I have always wondered why does everyone have shutters on their windows? Also why are they all shut before 8pm and everywhere seems to be dead come night fall?
Nice pictures:)

Thanks Kris :)

You seem to have a lovely spot on our planet. ;)

There is certainly a variation in the roof styles, from almost flat to peaked. Most homes look bricked except for the 2nd last shot, they look stucco.

I see you burn a lot of wood as well, now do you buy it or go out and cut it yourself?

The windmill, now is it cement or wood and what does it actually do?

They are not as common as they appear to be in Belguim. Then again we didn't get to stop long in many places so maybe it was just where we were:)

Hi Doug!

The variation isn't only in the roofs... one of Belgium's problems is the fact that you can build any style you want anywhere... so our country looks ... not so nice, that way... it's one overwhelming mix of styles, often conflicting with eachother! That and the fact people in belgium build quite next to the road with a garden in the back... this way lots of open space gets ruined and there are houses almost everywhere...  You have to go far south in Belgium to see unspoiled areas, and even then...

The wood you see comes from a wallnut-tree we had to cut down. It was an grand tree, but it stood like 4 m from the house, and streched over the neighbours gardens. In the first shot you see the location where it stood. We did it with pain in the hearth, but my plot is just 9 m wide.... a bit to small for such a large tree...
