First I layed out all of the structural pieces to make sure that everything was the right size. It was hard to decide where to put these stronger 1/4" x 1/4" inch pieces, so I just went with my "gut feeling" so to speak and put them where I thought the wing would need the most support.
Here you see most of the ribs in place, cut to fit around the main spar.
The wing tip. I drilled a hole in it here so that I could glue a peg in to hold it in place. Even though this is a static model, I still don't like glueing flat surface to flat surface. I just feel better knowing that something is interlocking to hold it in place.
Here's the wing partly sanded. It has notches cut in it for the stringers, thin 3/16" square pieces of balsa.
And here's both wings finished set alongside the fuselage on my messy work table.
Next we'll take a look at the canard and winglets. Stay tuned.
