And Beef, I have heard it in the past, how a team who looks so good and would play a really good game, only to get blown out in a bowl game.

Of course Craig, but you must understand that there is absolutely no such thing as teaching Joe Paterno and Penn State how to play real football.  Honestly it's kind of insulting, considering the school's history.

Say guys? Those big letters spelling Oregon on the field... is that done in case one of the players get stampede upon, so he can recall where on earth he is?  ;D

And Richie... ease up on the Bengal fire the next time... looks smokey...  ;D  ;D  ;D

I'm not actually sure it's possible to blow Penn State out (this year I mean), I can't remember the last time a school with a top 5 defense was blown out.

You might be right, they are a really good team this year.  I think they are almost as good as that 1994 Penn State team which had Kerry Collins and Ki-Jana Carter, that was a special team and they should have had a share of the national title (I watched them all year and cheered them on-well, except for the Rose Bowl of course).

I'm really glad to hear that Joe Paterno is back on top.  He is the greatest college coach of all time, much better than Bobby Bowden.  I hope they clobber FSU.

Jeez Richie, in that case, I'm cryin' buckets over Oregon not getting a BCS berth! ;D (which they, of course, rightfully deserved-maybe the noles will give them their filched spot :))

I've actually really liked Penn State for a long time.

Funny though, I know a lot of people who say that they just "have always liked Penn State."  I guess they're a likeable school.

Unfortunately, some of the best PSU players have gone on to hated Eagles rivals (Lavar Arrington-Redskins, Kerry Collins-Giants, etc.) but I guess I still like them anyway ;D

Where were you born Richie, do you feel any alliegance to your home town team (just interested)?

Yeah, sorry, I should've clarified-I was refering to pro teams.  I personally used to believe that until you went to college yourself, your college alliegences should fall with your father's/mother's college team (providing they went to college, of course), and your pro alliance was with where you were born (my dads a Packers fan, I'm an Eagles guy).

The college thing didn't hold true however, as I found I was rooting for Penn State against my dad's Badgers just this year ;D

My parents never went to a college with a football team, both went to community college.  But, there is a major university in my hometown with a football team-so thats where my alliegency is.

As far as professional teams, there is no pro football team in Oregon.  The only major professional sports team we have is the NBA's Portland Trail Blazers, I'm not a huge basketball fan but they are my favorite team.

The closest NFL team is Seattle but I have never liked them.  Next is probably the 49ers, and I really liked them until they traded Joe Montana and I was pretty mad about that so my alliegence shifted to Kansas City with him.

Growing up, I was always a Chicago Bears fan because when I was little my uncle played for them.  He was a tight end for Chicago in 1985 and 1986, I was too young to actually watch him play but ever since I was little I remember hearing about him.  When Montana retired, Carolina came into existance that same year and they drafted Collins so I have followed Carolina ever since.  I really liked Kerry Collins but he made a serious mistake in Carolina (publically said he didn't have the heart for the game anymore and got traded to New Orleans).  But, by that point, Carolina was my favorite team.
