You forgot to mention that he smashed it up while taking off from Castle Bromwich. Fortunately he was not too badly hurt but he admitted he wasn't looking where he was going. Even the best can get careless. It was later rebuilt & owned by my boyhood hero Neville Duke. (Hawker Tomtit if anyone wants to know.)

If you're coming down from EGNT it's about the same distance as Duxford (about 180miles from York, so about 250 or so from near EGNT).

Best show to take photos in the country.

Presumably a Hatz is a homebuilt of some description. It must have been visiting for the day...

According to the CAA registration database it's a HATZ CB-1 built in 1981 & first registered in the UK in 1989. Powered by 1 x Lycoming O-320-E2. Manufacturer is listed as DANGELO RF. Anything else you want to know?

I checked it out after I got home on the day Craig took these shots as I had no idea what it was either.
Think I posted my own shot of it some time ago.
