Finally... a non-corporate install (part 2)

The current mixer/etc., on a table in the small chapel near the altar. It's cheap stuff (snort, giggle...) but has served adequately. The new system will be in a converted closet in the back of the church- the mixer will use LCDs to watch what's going on through some pan/tilt/zoom cameras.




Sadly, I have no good pictures (yet)of the nice old old pipr organ, but this church has something even cooler: a carillion. this is the rack of pull-ropes used to ring the bells in the steeple:




A close-up of the mfr's mark: forgot to ask how old it is. The steel cable is not original; it used to be all hemp.





Looking up the lines into the steeple... the tech guy (a transplanted Brit, BTW) was nice enough to show us around, and even let us mess with the carillion. Big problem with it is that you can't really hear it while playing- eventually they want to mic it and put a monitor speaker down here. Hope I get to do that...

I did many a different setup temprorary and permanent at my old church with 4 different sections of the bulding requiring audio and all sections changing on a daily basis it was "interesting"

Just found out that the electrical contractor bailed... if we can get another crew on line before the holidays, I'm afraid this'll turn into another "hurry up" job... ugh.

That sounds all too typical I'm afraid. This is all fascinatiing stuff & I'm sure you'll make a decent job of it. I don't object to this sort of thing at all providing it's done in a sympathetic & unobtrusive way. I've seen some very poor examples of installing modern equipment which doesn't seem appropriate & can easily spoil the look

I've never taken the time to do that; good idea.
There are some remarkably old churches right  in Newark;  I ought to go get a closer look sometime.
Just have to be careful of the holy water... it burns!!!
