A Walk in the Woods part 2 of 2

Postby beaky » Thu Nov 03, 2005 7:29 pm

Looks like this year's storms left a few more obstacles on the trail... but Peg'll manage.

Image

Oh, great... now she's wallowing in a muddy ditch. Peg...!!

Just a quick visit today; want to beat the rush-hour traffic, so it's time to go.One last look...
Of course, as soon as I put the camera away to focus on driving, a deer crossed the road. I stopped, because, of course, there was another following...

Image

Equal time here for some more inorganic beauty: there's always some traffic over these woods, in and out of KEWR and KMMU. Hard to see and photograph some of the high-flyers thru the trees...

Next bunch of pics from here will most likely show it with snow on the ground...

Lovely autumn colours. Unfortunately I think I've missed ours again this year. The strong winds this week will have stripped all the leaves.

What th-? That you, Hagar?
:D

Things are not optimum here, foliage-wise, either... too hot, then too cold, then rainy and windy... the photos show off the colors, but the woods overall looked pretty bare and drab compared to years past.

Sweet shots! I love autumn woods! Nice to see they are close to NY too.

Guess Peg loved all that water and you didn't, once she was in the car!  ;D

And in the end... doesn't it always show we are plane-nuts?  ;)

I think it must be something in canine DNA that causes dogs to dive into muddy puddles but hate baths.....

Speaking of baths, I had a Rockwieler who loves to take a bath. SHE would always stay calm as long as she is constantly hosed down and was rubbed on.

However, as soon as I was finished, I had to drive away and take cover because she would then shake off all that water and the water would come down on me like a typhoon.

Dogs. ::)

Peg is OK with baths, but a little scared of slippery surfaces. Once i get started, she realizes she's being pampered, and enjoys it.

It looks like a Delta 757. The colours on the engines are a giveaway
