Whoahh - my mum just moved into this century!!

Postby TSC. » Thu Oct 27, 2005 11:46 am

Well folks, it finally happened, my mum decided to use the digital camera she's had for the last 2 years. She rang me up & asked to me how to work it (::)), then she merrily went on her way with the dog & came back with the fruits of her labour.

Seeing as i'm round at mums now, she asked me to put the pics on the pc for her (& seeing as she's now not looking I thought I'd post some for your approval ;D)

What d'ya think guys - does she deserve a round of applause or not??

Not bad mum, not bad:

Hmm, getting better:

Ahh, the old 'Dog lead, swaying in the wind' action shot - an old favourite:

The first two are worthy of a standing ovation ;) The house is beautiful, how old is it?

The house is the old 'Gamekeepers Cottage' at the entrance to Cockington Court.

The earliest record of the cottage is 1517, and the last gamekeeper to live there was in the early 1900s.

I must admit, it would be a cool place to live.

Cheers,

Beautiful. Half-expected to see a hobbit standing by the gate to that cottage... not many thatched roofs anymore, even in Europe. Old-school... I like it.
That Japanese maple is lovely, too... but why no pix of the dog?

Here's one I got off the net, Cockington is full of thatches - the gamekeepers cottage is just up the hill in the back of the photo:

I also thought it was a funny photo - who else thinks the photographer was sneakily making a comparison between the womans face & - er, well, what she's standing next to. ;D

Cheers,

Not much in the midwest you mean.  We plenty of them in the northeast. ;)

Great pics, especially for a first time user! :)

edit: Ahhh well not from 500 years ago and no thatched roofs either, but we have enough houses from 200 years and forward.

Those shots are really nice. That place reminds me of Bilbo Baggins in "The Hobbit". ;D

For those who don't know: The Hobbit is a fantasy novel by J. R. Tolkein. It was the prelude to The Lord of the Rings novels.

Beautiful, They make you feel like you are there and not looking at a picture.
I have never seen a roof like that . Looks like it is made to blend with the scenery from the air.
Thank your mom for taking them and you for showing them.

Yeah great. 8)
England has some fantastic cottages that are hundreds of years old. Iffly in Oxford has some jaw-droppping ones and they are all probably worth more than
