Happy Halloween.....

Postby Fly2e » Fri Oct 21, 2005 8:35 pm

To those who celebrate!
I have my 3 1/2 year old & 1 1/2 year old girls to take around this year. I have taken off from work, have some wood for the outdoor chiminea and some spiked cider to celebrate this fall event! My in-laws will be down from Massachusetts and this should be a nice Holiday...
Is anybody doing anything intesting?

We're having our usual Halloween bash... maybe I'll take some pictures this year.
Have fun trick-or-treating... how nice to have kids, so you have an excuse to do that!!

They are trying to introduce Halloween here but I don't think it'll catch on..... so I'll probably just try and have a nice quiet time :)

It means the Eve of All Saints (Hallow's Evening), All Saints Day being on November 1st ::),  but not many recognize that.

Halloween. Great in the States, useless anywhere else in the world.

Better be glad you don't have it in your country. It's costly for all that candy! I know dentist's, nutritionist and the like really hate the holiday.

The only fun part of it is getting to see the little children dressed up in their costumes. Some of them are so cute. It is fun to make them smile and hear them giggle when you put the candy in their bags. ;D

If it weren't for making the kids happy. I would have no use for the holiday myself. ::)

We're having a Percussion-wide trick or treating session. Our recurring theme is the "white ninjas". Basically one day during band camp we all come wearing white T-shirts over our head in sort of a nija-esque fashion.

We're going to go to one house wearing our "masks" and just ring the doorbell and just hold out our bags for candy. The rest of us are going to hide in the dark and when the one person is done, another goes up to the same house and repeats the process.

Gonna be great. ;D

We once had to do a debate about the KKK versus the blacks in the 50/60's.... I think my history teacher really regretted it as he selected the 4 biggest thicko (oddly enough we've all done really well since leaving school.... so much for education!) boys in the class to represent the KKK and the 4 most left wing intellectual girls to represent the Afro-Americans.
So the boys troop in wearing pillow cases on their heads with eye-holes cut in them... it would have been really cool if Richard hadn't had flowers embroidered on the corner of his ::)
