That's cool. Wish we had those flat rigs for the snares when I played snare in HS marching band... sucked for me playing at an angle because I always played "like-hand" (started doing that when I got a drumset- couldn't really hit 'em right with the "traditional" grip).
I can do the weird left hand thing , but unless the drum is angled, what's the point?
And although the old-school sling was lighter than that whole brace dealie, the field drums we used were about twice that size... sounded great (nice Premiers), but damn
heavy!! Those quints look a little lighter than the three-drum rig that our tom player carried around, also.... ah, the bad old days... isn't it boring hearing about that? Back in my day, etc, etc...
