Duxford Autumn show 2

Postby Hagar » Mon Oct 17, 2005 6:26 am

Here's a mish-mash of a rather mish-mash show. IMHO
Lots of variety but the programme changed several times since it was first announced & some of the aircraft I wanted to see didn't display. I rather like this quick snapshot from the flightline before the show.

The show opened with two runs by the KC-135. By the time I got the camera set up it was gone. The F-15s from Lakenheath put on a nice, if brief, display but were too far away to get any decent shots. I had hoped for a formation run with the KC-135 but no such luck. All the best runs during the day were directly out of the sun which probably suits the pilots but didn't suit your old mate Hagar at all. ::) ;)

Another snapshot. Pembroke with a tiny Cassut racer in the foreground.

The Air Atlantique DC-3. He really threw it around. Super display

Another Cat. This time the Plane Sailing Canso.

The wonderful Aerostars with their Yaks. Brilliant.

And the amazing Red Bull Matadors. These chaps certainly know how to fly & put on a great show.

I knew I would not get them on the digital, so I shot them on video ;)

I failed to get a good shot of the Dakota. Nice pics again Doug. :)

So was I but I could hardly see them, let alone focus on the darned thngs. Here's what a chap from another forum thought about it & I quote.
Almost shows go to USAF. Good display but that KC-135 fella and the two F-15's seemed navigationally challenged, looked as if they displayed at Audley End!

Very disappointing after going to all that trouble.
