Took Jr TSC to see these today........

Hi all,

Well it's Jr TSC's 4th birthday tomorrow, so today we took him down to Dobwalls Adventure Park in Cornwall because he's absolutely stark raving bonkers about trains.

Unfortunately, Jr still thinks 'smile' means 'show me every single one of your teeth!!':

steam locomotive, the world's largest design.
It is probably the most powerful 1.5 inch scale locomotive in the world:

powered by a Leyland 1.5 ltr diesel engine with hydraulic transmission,
originally to one of the special four axle bogies:

I wish they would still use locomotives like that today, sure it would be a bumpy ride, but they are just so cool!

That looks like an awesome place !!  I am a steam engijne nut my self.  ;D I belong to a Narrow Gauge Steam RR in Mt. Pleasant ,Iowa where they have 3 operational steam locomotives.  their website is www.mcrr.org if you want to check it out.  I will have to post some pictures sometime.

OMG thats looks like the coolest thing. there was a homemade railroad in Anaconda washington i think, but they closed down in 1999 after the death of the creator.

wow that looks very cool. next time i go to the UK (which will be my first, whenever it is...)  i'm seeing that.

We got to St Ives once a year, and Lappa Valley is always a firm family favourite

There you can see the real (full-sized) thing & possibly have a ride on them. I must take a trip up there myself in the not too distant future.

I'm still inclined to do that & rarely come out well in posed photos. Although my granddaughter has no teeth yet I suspect she takes after me.

theres a steam locomotive track in my town, but me and my friends walk on it =D you can guess its closed but this thing leads through like 5 bordering towns

May have to pop in to see that Doug, its only just up the road. Of course for us the National Railway Museum is on our doorstep (and is now free). We were thinking of taking 4472 to Scarborough but I've heard its off the rails for a new boiler for a year or two... I wish they still used "Mallard". Gorgeous locomotive...

Ah, Dobwalls....that brings back sweet, sweet memories of my former self.
  I used to be just like yur son TSC, I loved trains....but then aircraft came into my life and I'm who I am now.
  Nice shots, happy birthday mini-TSC!!!
And I see you've been to the NRM!!! Thats a very good place indeed.
