Static Aerobatic shots! :)

Postby Jared » Sun Sep 04, 2005 7:35 pm

All I can say is I really wish I had been able to get some better angles on these beautiful birds.. ;)

Probably my favorite one of this set of shots.. ;)

Had to compress this one quite a bit to get it back under 100KB so the original is quite a bit better! ;)

No the Deke was not a part of the show, it is owned by the flight school operating out of the airport along with a symphony and 2 huskies! (No floats though...)

hahaha, that's a very modified coupe deville from what I could tell...

They use it as the launch and recovery vehicle for the jet truck team.. :)

Nice shots, Jared. I talked to the pilot of that orange splotchy one. He said kids made the design or something. Pretty cool..

I would have chosen flames myself, but hey. :)

Lovely snaps Jared, and Doug I think Oracle is a communications company, but don't quote me on that ;)

There are two types of aeroplane, Spitfires and everything else that wishes it was a Spitfire!

Nice shot there Jared,
A Ozzy said:

Ozzy is right in saying that they are a communications company, they deal with IT related systems and have been around since 1977.

The aircraft that they use is a "one of a kind" Oracle Challenger (Home Build) and The Pilot Is Sean Tucker.
The team has had the Honour of Flying in formation with the Thunderbirds display team and also the Blue Angels.

Pretty good for a small company/aircraft/pilot dont you think?

I appreciate that Mark but it was the easiest way to identify the aircraft I was referring to :P ;)

Thanks Nemo. That's exactly what I wanted to know. :D

Aye. And Sean D. Tucker is probably the best aerobatic pilot I have ever seen in my life.

I've heard that Tucker's plane is "based" on the Pitts S2... makes sense, but it's almost certainly scratch-built, not a modified Pitts.

lol, yeah it may have started out as a Pitts, many years ago, but bears little or no resemblance to one today.. :)
