Flight of Aces B-17 "Flying Fortress" Pt1

Postby Fly2e » Sun Sep 04, 2005 9:54 am

Well I had a change of plans and went on Saturday with my daughter, Madison. We just missed BOTH the Liberator & The B-17 Land. We did get to see them taxi to the fence, position themselves and shut down their engines. We were then allowed full access to them. It was pretty cool as we were able to go up inside them. They still smelled of fuel and Madison thought she was in a "jungle Gym"!
What great aircrafts these are. Full of History, nostalgia, rivets and metal!
You could go up in the Liberator & B-17 for $400! I was tempted but knew the wife would not approve of the money spent nor taking one of our daughters up over Long Island in a Historic aircraft without her knowing!

There are two types of aeroplane, Spitfires and everything else that wishes it was a Spitfire!

Great shots, Dave. It really was a beautiful day yesterday. Glad you got to enjoy it.

(I got to re-seal our driveway. Yay.)
